Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Covenant Christian Church for Larry Lee Johnson, 50, of Hokes Bluff, formerly of Erwin, Tenn., who passed away on June 9, 2014. Dr. Rodney Gilmore will officiate. Burial will follow at Young's Chapel Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services.Larry was a member of Covenant Christian Church. He was an over the road truck driver before his illness forced him to retire.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Larry and Polly McNally, and Walter and Lucy Johnson.He is survived by his wife, Tina Godfrey Johnson; parents, Arnold (Lenore) Johnson, Erwin, Tenn., Alice (RT) Franklin, Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Polly Mae (Larry) Isreal, Arkansas, Anna (Tommy) Franklin, Deana (David) Willis and Coretha Johnson; brothers, Teddy Johnson and Allen (Ida) Johnson; stepdaughters, Chasity Roscoe and Shannon Horton; mother- and father-in-law, James T. Godfrey and Ila Godfrey; special friends, Lynn and Pam Bradshaw; best friends, Kenneth Smith and Elwood Ketchem.Pallbearers will be family and friends.Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the carpet fund at Covenant Christian Church, 3150 Appalachian Highway, Gadsden, AL 35903.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to time of service today at the church.www.ghbfuneralhome.com
