Keith MacDonald 1956 - 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Keith Brian MacDonald on Christmas day, at the Missions Hospice in Ottawa. Keith will always be remembered by his niece, nephew and sister-in-law, Sarah, Stephen and Jill, as a kind and gentle person with a wry sense of humour, a way with words, and a particular fashion sense. He endured the many challenges that life delivered to him with equanimity and fortitude, while yielding finally to the cancer that took his life. Keith loved to read, to play card games and, especially, to play the guitar. We would like to thank Keith's many caregivers: Marjorie and Jennifer and the staff at the Edgewood Care Centre, where he spent 16 years of his life, who offered him a caring home environment; Trudy Kelly, his social worker from the Royal Ottawa Hospital, who offered him encouragement and moral support for many years; and finally, Wen and the staff and volunteers of the Mission Hospice in Ottawa whose "end of life" care was unparalleled. Finally, Keith will be with his loving parents, Beatrice and Carson MacDonald, in heaven. May he find the eternal peace and happiness that he so richly deserves. In memory of Keith, donations to the Mission Hospice, Edgewood Care Centre or your local Schizophrenia Association would be appreciated.
