LOWELL - Katie Mae Williams, 96, a Lowell resident more than four decades, died Wednesday morning, March 26 ,at her home. She was the wife of David Williams Jr., who died in 1980.She was born in Wilson, N.C., on Aug. 26, 1906, a daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Barnes) Anderson. She was educated in North Carolina schools.Mrs. Williams and her husband came to Lowell in 1958 . She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church.She is survived by six daughters, Annie Tune and Lilly Mae Williams, both of Baltimore, Frances Simmons, Ruby McDougal, Christine Williams and Mandy Jones, all of Lowell; two sons, James Armstrong and Floyd Williams, both of Lowell; 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She also leaves two close friends, Catherine Durham and Mary Mitchell, both of Lowell.
