CHESHIRE - Kathleen M. (Stowers) Peterson, 91, of Cheshire, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at the Midstate Medical Center, Meriden. She was the wife of the late John S. Peterson.Born Nov. 25, 1921 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Anna-Marie (Wiedermann) Stowers. Prior to her retirement Kathleen was a reporter for the Waterbury Republican American and Cheshire Herald for many years along with being a news broadcaster for WNTY in Southington. Kathleen was also a hostess at the Cabin Restaurant in Meriden. She was an avid Red Sox Fan and a stamp collector.She is survived by her children, Eric Peterson, of Cheshire, Carl Peterson, of Middletown and David Peterson, of Hartford; a brother, Clifford Stowers, of Maine; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Peterson, of Meriden, Elizabeth Peterson, of Daytona Beach, Fla.,;and John Peterson, of Cheshire; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Rose Lanos, of Florida; and one niece; and one nephew.A graveside service will be held on Thursday, at 1 p.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
