MANCHESTER - Kathleen M. (Wageling) Malone, 61, of Manchester, passed Dec. 19, 2012 in her home. Born in Manchester on Sept. 21, 1951, to Ed and Irene Wageling (Mitchell), she spent her early years caring for her younger siblings and focusing on her studies. During her time at West High School she achieved membership in the National Honor Society. She then attended the University of New Hampshire. Kathy then met the love of her life, Thomas Malone, to whom she was happily married for 41 years. She was soon blessed with two sons, Jeffrey Malone and James Malone, both of Manchester. Kathy then moved with her family to Troy to build a home and a career. She would later move back to Manchester with her family for career opportunities. Kathy started in the bakery department of the local grocery store and, over the years, worked her way up to become the store manager of Hannaford's in Manchester, where she proved to be a loyal and true leader. In her later years, she loved to spend her time tending to her beautiful flower garden, which flourished under her green thumb. In addition to philanthropy and gardening, Kathy adored any moment spent with her grandchildren, Samuel, Mason Belle and Abraham. Her family was the center of her life, she will be missed by many. She also enjoyed cruising with family and friends, reading, watching movies and attending the theater. Along with her husband, children and grandchildren, Kathy is survived by her sister Lisa and her husband Matt Swank, of Manchester; and her brothers, Tom Wageling of Manchester, Andy Wageling and his wife Lorraine, of Loudon, Eric Wageling and his wife Donna, of Dumbarton, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. . services: Calling hours at the Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 102 Main St., Manchester, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
