JOSEPH A. PARADISE, 81Retired Teacher LAKELAND - Joseph A. Paradise, 81, of Lakeland, passed away Feb. 19, 2011 at Lakeland Hills Center of Dementia. Born in Newark, NJ, he taught at the Toms River Intermediate East School for 25 years before retiring in 1988. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He was an avid golfer and sportsman belonging to the Bey Lea Golf Club in Toms River, and the Huntington Hills Country Club, in Lakeland. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Angela; a daughter Elaine Paradise of Atlanta, GA; his sons Steven Paradise of Asheville, NC and Joey Paradise of Hanover, PA; a sister Camille Farrow of Westfield, NJ and 2 grandchildren Madison and Zachary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 N, at 4:00 pm. Friends are invited to the funeral home from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale, FL.
