Warner Robins - Mr. Johnson Clarence "Johnny" Moore, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 in a local nursing home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony DeSarli officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Athens, GA at 3:00 PM. Johnny was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Johnson Moore on October 31, 1919 in Newport, Arkansas. Johnny was a member of the U.S. Army's last horse Calvary as a ferrier, he then was transferred to the Army Air Corps as a paratrooper. He met the love of his life Betty C. Hill in Athens, GA in 1943 while attending Army school at Midland Radio. While living in Warner Robins since 1955 he lived an active life shoeing horses, teaching swimming, roller skating, amateur radio and hunting and fishing. Johnny was a retired material analyst at Robins Air Force Base. Survivors include his wife of sixty eight years Betty H. Moore, daughters Sondra (Andy) Wilkinson of Elberta, AL, Becky (William "Fonza") Pattishall of Byron, GA, Pam (Wayne) Warren of Zolfo Springs, FL, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. Moore's name to Habitat for Humanity, Hardee County, at 502 East Main Street, Bowling Green, FL 33834 or to the Heart of Georgia Hospice @ 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
