Born in Vegreville, Alberta, John passed away peacefully in Victoria in the presence of family members. John leaves behind his wife of 65 years Eileen, four sons Glynne (June), Chris (Maureen), Dave (Ann), Peter (Janice), one daughter Jane, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He also leaves behind his brother Hugh (Ellen) of Duncan. John was predeceased by his mother and father, Minna and Albert and his brother Paul.John spent his career as a plumber/oil burner mechanic, first at Griffith's in Duncan, then George Bernie's in Victoria and finally Rawlings Plumbing and Heating in Victoria. As an avid curler for over 50 years, John was a member at the Victoria Curling Club. He also volunteered his time as a driver for local curling and golf events. John spent many summers and weekends with family and friends at the cabin, Lakeside Six in Lake Cowichan. John was a great story teller who never lost his sense of humour, no matter what the challenge.A Celebration of Life will be held for John on April 11, 2015 at 2:00 at the Victoria Curling Club, 1952 Quadra St.
