John Ben Walls, 78, of 2245 Walls Road, widower of Katherine Barnett Walls, died March 2, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital.A native of Greenville County, son of the late Will and Junie Clayton Walls, he was the owner/operator of The Community Grocery, and was a member of O'neal Church of God.Surviving are a daughter, Wanda Wood of Greer; two sons, Dennis Walls and Boyce Walls, both of Greer; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at O'neal Church of God, conducted by Rev. Joel Poole and Rev. Tommy Brown. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be Charles Henson, Steve Kiser, John Kiser, Ricky Griffin and Eddie Barnett.Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Wood Mortuary.The family is at the home of the son, Boyce Walls, 2213 Walls Road, Greer.
