ECKHART Eckhart, John W. III, 72, of Boca Raton died peacefully at home on Monday, July 22, 2002. Lt. Colonel (ret) US Army, served in Korea and Vietnam, a recipient of The Purple Heart and The Bronze Star. After retiring from his military career, he moved to Boca Raton in 1972. Mr. Eckhart was the Veteran Administration Counselor for 15 years with Florida Atlantic University. He was preceded in death by daughters, Elizabeth Ann & Virginia Leigh. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Kemp Eckhart; devoted children, John W. IV (Kathleen); M. Susan Woofter (The Rev Douglas); Rodney K.; Douglas P. (Bonnie); beloved grandchildren: John W. V, Joel D., Elyssa & Eric D. Eckhart; Cameron Ahern; Caroline & Savannah Allred; Olivia & Derrick Puckett; Andrew, Elizabeth & Jillian Spitzer; and Rebecca Woofter. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Babione Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2002 at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Boca Raton followed by Funeral Military Honors graveside at The Boca Raton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
