STUART _ John Roberts Allan slipped peacefully away surrounded by family on July 8, 2006 to be reunited with his beloved wife Dorothy who predeceased him on September 29, 2005. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Glenda; son, Don; 2 grandchildren, Katie and Ted; extended family members; and friends. John, who proudly celebrated his 90th birthday on June 14, 2006, was an energetic and kind spirit and a dedicated husband and father. He was a WWII veteran. John taught English at John Oliver High School before becoming a primary school administrator. Gardening was his passion and he was quick to share his flowers and produce. He also enjoyed building, renovating, travelling and playing the piano and organ. The family would like to thank all who visited and cared for John during his final year of declining health. Special thanks to Andrea and Priscilla for their kindness, care, and dedication. You were his angels. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. at West Vancouver Presbyterian Church, 2893 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in John's memory would be appreciated. "When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there. And so you are now Dad - 'Home' up yonder with Mum. Love you always."
