John Lewis Davis, 90, formerly of 2103 W. Parker Road, died May 17, 2006, in Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, N.C. Born Aug. 31, 1915, Haywood County, N.C., he was a son of the late Jesse Abraham and Betty Elizabeth Self Davis, and was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.Surviving are his two sons, Carrol Eugene Davis of Travelers Rest and Gerald Eddy Davis of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Nancy Ruth Davis and Susan Carol Davis, both of Travelers Rest, Christopher Patrick Davis of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Gerri Allison Davis of New York City; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher Patrick Davis II, Lauren Elizabeth Davis and Alexander James Davis, all of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Furman Davis of Travelers Rest.He was predeceased by his wife, Elouise Rosalee Farmer; a son, Ronnie Lewis Davis; and brothers and sisters, Robert Clingman Davis, Sue Etta Davis, Bertie Mae Davis, Hobert McKenely Davis, Jeter Marion Davis, Maude Elizabeth Davis, Tellie Davis, Ruth Naomi Davis, Floyd Denver Davis and Theodore Roosevelt Davis.Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Mortuary.An online guest register is available at www.thewoodmortuary.com
