John D. Cooper, 58, Venice, died May 31, 2005. He was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Trenton, N.J., and came to Venice a year ago from Plymouth, Mass. He was a driller and crane operator. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Janet M. Drew; stepdaughters Paula K. Labbe and Casey M. Drew; a stepson, Kenneth P. Drew Jr. of Plymouth, Mass.; a brother, Sherwood of Raynham, Mass.; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be later. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home is in charge.
