John-A. Whaley, born in 1946, son of John and Evelyn, father of Emily, Austin and Tex, died on July 18, 2002 at 55 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
John A. Whaley of EndicottJohn A. Whaley, 55, of Jane Lacey Dr., died early Thursday morning, July 18, 2002 as a result of an auto accident in the Town of Afton. He was born November 6, 1946 in Norwich, N.Y. and raised in North Norwich. John was a graduate of Sherburne Central School, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, In. and an Associate of Arts & Science Degree from ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis in 1974. At one time, he was a General Manager of Acme Tech Smith, Inc. in Johnson City and from 1999 to the present, was the Foundry Superintendent at Phillips Foundry in Binghamton. Surviving are three children, Emily, Austin, Tex., and Natalie and Adam, Kansas City, Mo.; his parents, John and Evelyn Whaley, North Norwich; two sisters, Wendy Whaley-Sauder, Goshen, Vt. and Vicky Clark, Sherburne, N.Y.; an aunt, Jessie Labor, North Norwich; two uncles, Clare Gibbs, Norwich and Robert Gibbs, North Norwich. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 South Main St., Sherburne, N.Y. Burial will be in the North Norwich Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
