JOEL JOSEPH CAULEY SOUTH BURLINGTON - Joel Joseph Cauley, 67, of South Burlington, died on Dec. 25, 2011, following a short illness. He was born on May 21, 1944, the son of the late James J. and Dolores (Toohey) Cauley. He was a graduate of Ocean City High School in Ocean City, N.J., Class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1968. He was employed by Ideal Roofing in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for 26 1/2 years. Joel was sales representative of the year in 1993, 1996, 2001 and 2008. He was a devoted man to his work. His customers liked him, respected him and trusted him because he told them the truth. Joel is survived by his special friend and partner, Marge Vincent; lifetime friends, Ron and Fran Panunto of Langhorne, Pa.; Ideal Company owner and friend, Rene Laplante; special friend and co-worker, Patric St. Denis; his golfing buddy, Tom Sawyer; and by many other friends, co-workers and business associates. He was predeceased by his brother, James F. Cauley. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Julian Sprague and his nurse, Kristen Putnam, and the dedicated staff and team at Fletcher Allen Health Care Oncology Department. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
