Obituary of Jerry Goodwin


Jerry Thomas Goodwin, 74, of 211 Craig Street, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at his home.A native of Fountain Inn, he was a son of the late Tom and Maggie Lou Jones Goodwin. He was a member of Durbin Creek Baptist Church where he formally served as Deacon. He worked as a law enforcement officer for 13 years, and was the owner/operator of Goodwin's Dairy for 14 years.Surviving are his wife, Betty Traynham Goodwin; a son, Jerry Michael Goodwin and girlfriend Donna Smith; a daughter, Betty J. Goodwin; two sisters, Tommie Crumpton and husband Marion, Nancy Lollis and husband Calvin; and a brother-in-law, Donald Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jones Goodwin; and a sister, Jane Thomas.Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Saturday in the chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service with Reverends Caroll Caldwell, Don Stephens, and Dennis G. Lynn officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum of Cannon Memorial Park.Visitation will be prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice; 1836 W. Georgia Road; Simpsonville, SC 29680.The family is at the home.Fletcher Funeral Service
