<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Jeff of Calera, AL, was born in Fairfield, Alabama on February 5, 1967 and attended schools in the Birmingham area. Jeff proudly served his nation. He began his career in 1985 by enlisting In the U.S. Navy and upon completion of basic and advanced communication training, served overseas tours in the Philippines, Japan and Korea. Upon his honorable discharge from active duty, Jeff pursued a career in the home improvement industry. For more than 20 years, he offered hands-on building and remodeling services, completing countless residential projects that were not only beautiful, but brought convenience and pleasure to his clients for years. Jeff's zest for life and sense of humor were so endearing that his clients became friends by the end of a project. When Jeff entered a room, the room lit up. He never met a stranger. His talents were countless. Just to name a few, he was a chef, carpenter, dancer, electrician, comedian, horticulturist, singer, therapist and, yes, a gifted athlete in his youth. Jeff had a compassionate heart, a protective nature and guardian spirit. He was predeceased by his parents, Bobby Lee Gardiner and Judith Box Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Martha Gardiner; his daughter, Lindsay Gardiner; brother, Scott Gardiner and niece Mia Grace Gardiner. His signature gift of laughter, his unique sense of style, and his ability to fix literally everything home-related will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Arrangements are being coordinated with Charter Funeral Home in Calera, AL. A Celebration of Life will soon be scheduled with family and friends. Free spirited and a true sailor, Jeff's request for a private service with his ashes scattered at sea will be honored. Sail on, beloved sailor, into the light of the Lord.
