Jean Johnson-Friestad, 83, Venice, died July 23, 2004. She was born July 22, 1921, in Walhalla, N.D., and came to Venice in 1981 from Chicago. She was a homemaker. She received a bachelor's degree in humanities in 1981 from Northern Illinois University. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her daughters Donna Naylor of Bloomington, Ill., Debra Peterson of Deerfield Beach, and Ruth Jarvis of Heber City, Utah; sons Robert J. Johnson of Bismarck, N.D., and Joseph E. Johnson of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; sisters Donna Tomasiewicz and Joyce Stinson; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today, with a service to follow, at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 3000 E. Venice Ave., in Venice. Burial will be in Westchester, Ill.
