February 21, 1924 - July 20, 2012 Ireland, Janet Mary (Sowerby-Friis). Peacefully on July 20, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Montréal at the age of 88. Dearest Gramma of Douglas and Debra (Wright); Caitlin, Brendan, and Ashlinn (Parsons); Leaha, Skylar, and Clayton (Young). Great-grandmother of Blaze, Savannah, and Sahara. Predeceased by parents George and Mary (Plante), brother George, husbands J. Ralph Sowerby and Neil A. Friis, and daughters W. Lee and J. Gail (Sowerby). Survived by sister-in-law Margaret, step-daughter Karen, and sons-in-law Frank (Wright) and Brian (Parsons). She also will be missed by her many close friends and their families. Special thanks to the staff at the Montclair Residence and at St. Mary's Hospital for their care. Private internment at Urgel Bourgie Memorial Gardens in Montréal was conducted on July 27, 2012.
