Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Crestwood Chapel for Janet Brenda Stewart, 68, of Gadsden, who went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 15, 2011. The Rev. Robert Tant will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Brenda was born in Marshall County and was a resident of Etowah County since childhood. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family deeply. Talented in so many ways, she was never without some challenging project. Her many years as a Sunday School teacher and volunteer at the Christian Counseling Center will always be a reminder of the Christian life she lived.Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, B.W. Vann and Ruth Niles Vann; sister, Ginger V. Cooley. She is survived by her husband, Donald W. Stewart; sons, Scott F. (Jill) Stewart and Clark V. (Daphne) Stewart; grandchildren, Jake, Ryan and Wyatt Stewart; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be family and friends.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Monday at the funeral home.
