Retired nurse AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on April 27, 2003, Mr. James Richard Kelly, beloved father of Mike, Judy, Lauren and husband of Mary Anne. A native of Burlington, Iowa he served in the military as a Medic, after his service in the Army, he graduated Nursing School and cared for Veterans at the V.A. Hospital in Augusta for 35 years. He was very loving and devoted to his family . Survivors include wife, Mary Anne Kelly, Augusta; one son, Michael Richard Kelly, Waynesboro; two daughters, Lauren Rhodes, Augusta, Judy Kelly, Martinez; one daughter- in-law, Helene Kelly, Waynesboro; one son-in-law, Carl Rhodes, Augusta; four grandchildren, Mike Kelly, Jason Lucas, Morgan Rhodes, and Ashleigh Rhodes; two sisters, Betty Oberman, Denver, Colo., JoAnn Graybill, Martinez; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kelly and a grandson, Eric Kelly. Pallbearers are Mike Kelly, Jason Lucas, Jimmy Jones, and Grady Tabb. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at 11 a.m., with Father Ben Dallas. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park.
