BERWICK, Maine — Ivan Henry Paquet, 77, of Little River Road, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, peacefully in his sleep, at home after a long illness.He was born Sept. 23, 1927, a son of Wilfrid and Ludivine Gagnon Paquet in Hartford, Conn. He attended grammar and high school in Jackman, Maine.He served in the U.S. Army during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He earned the Occupation Medal (Germany), the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal during World War II. During the Korean Conflict, he earned the Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Service Star to the Korean Service Medal.He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1993 as a sheet metal worker.He was active in the Charles S. Hatch American Legion Post 79 for the past 27 years. He was also a member of the South East New Hampshire Bowlers Association. He was an avid bowler and he also enjoyed golf. He and his wife could also be found in the bingo halls two to three times per week. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn; son, Jeff Paquet of Sylvester, Ga.; daughters, Mary Lou Campbell of West Springfield, Mass., and Lou Anne Holden of Enfield, Conn.; and six grandchildren.Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester St., Berwick, Maine. The American Legion will perform a service at 3 p.m. followed by a funeral service with the Rev. Bob Cole, officiating.
