Ida-Marianne Jackson, born in 1928, spouse of Roger Jackson, died on December 8, 2013.
JACKSON, Ida Marianne (nee Fogelberg) - July 14, 1928 - December 8, 2013 Ida died peacefully in hospital, surrounded by family, after a life well lived. Born in Winnipeg from strong Scandinavian immigrants, she moved to the Annex in Toronto in 1942, attending Central Tech and University of Toronto. In 1954 she married Roger, whom she'd met at a YWCA dance. Children followed; twins Patricia and Joanne, then Eric and Jenny. In the 1970s she worked for the Ontario Government before quitting early. Extremely bright, she became a successful stock market investor. Community involvement included the ABC Residents Association and the Foresters. Retirement was filled with travel. Her last months were lived at home with the always-present support of Roger, husband of 59 years, Eric, and St. Michael's Renal Unit. She will be sorely missed by Roger, Eric, Joanne (Philip Brown), Patricia (Guy Bellemare), Genevieve, (friend Lynn Jones), and her six grandchildren and spouses. No visitation. Service will be held at the MORLEY BEDFORD FUNERAL HOME, 159 Eglinton Ave. West (2 stop lights west of Yonge St.), Toronto on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to your favourite charity.
