Ian MacDonald January 14, 1928 to August 25, 2015 We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Ian MacDonald on Tuesday August 25, 2015 at his residence in Pointe-Claire Québec. He was the brother of Flora Cross, Ann Reid, Theodore, Archie and Donald MacDonald. Ian was tragically predeceased by his son John MacDonald. He leaves to remember him his son Garry MacDonald (Lynne McVey) and daughters Sandra MacDonald and Cathy MacDonald.He was the proud grandfather of Derek Wallace (Bianca Bayer), Amy Wallace (Peter Grant), Larry MacDonald (Stephanie Boyadjan) and Virginia Clarke. Five great-grandchildren are left to hear the stories of their great grandpa Ian - Liam, Aubry, Sydney, Aidan, Amelia. A well known and respected journalist, Ian lived a full life. He was a true and proud Montrealer, always happy to report the success of our athletes from young swimmers to olympic skiers. Ian believed strongly in the value of sports and fair play in the building of strong and honest character. There will be a gathering of family, friends and colleagues on Wednesday September 2nd, 2015 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White at 5610 Sherbrooke St West, Montreal.
