Hilda McGhee O'Bryant passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Born in Childersburg, Ala., Hilda was the daughter of the late Isaac Alston McGhee and Mary Onita McGhee. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles John O'Bryant; sons, David Jeffrey O'Bryant and wife, Ihrie, Charles John O'Bryant, III and wife LouAnn; grandchildren, Ihrie O'Bryant Wood and husband, Andy, Matthew Cooper O'Bryant, Charles Pou O'Bryant, Lauren Elizabeth O'Bryant, all of Raleigh, Brittany O'Bryant Jackson and husband, Hunter, of Charlotte; great grandchildren, William Gray Jackson and Caroline Ihrie Wood; sister, Virginia Ann Sumners of Vincent, Ala.; brothers, James J. McGhee of Hoover, Ala., and John McGhee of Dothan, Ala., and many nieces and nephews. Hilda will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 18, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 121 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27603. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd.
