Henry-D. Williams, spouse of Edith Williams, father of Mary and Henry, died. Please consult the obituary here:
Lifelong Yonkers resident Henry D. Williams, MD, 79, died on June 10. Surviving family include his wife Edith, brother Walter, daughter Mary McKoy and son Henry. Dr. Williams attended the Cooper Union and wqas awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart fror World War II service in the 370th Infantry Regiment in Italy. He then graduated from the City College of New York and the Howard University Medical School, did an internship at Harlem Hospital and had private practices in Harlem and Yonkers for decades. He was a member of the NAACP and the James H. Farrell Lodge. The memorial service will be at 6 pm Friday, June 18 at St. John's Church on South Broadway at Hudson St. in Yonkers. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the City College Alumni (Convent Ave. at 138 St., New York, NY 10031) or the Howard University Medical Alumni (PO Box 73523, T St. Station, Washington, DC 20056).
