MACKENZIE-COVINGTON Helen Pauline Pauline passed away peacefully with her sons by her side at the age of ninety in her home in Bellingham, Washington on June 8, 2009. Born on January 16, 1919 in Vancouver, British Columbia to parents Paul (Australia) and Nellie (Scotland) Powell. Pauline married her sweatheart Alistair Bain Mackenzie at the age of sixteen in Squamish, B.C., 1935. They were married for 48 years. Pauline and Alsitair (A.B.) were early pioneers of Wells, Williams Lake and Squamish ( Department stores). Traveling the world by water was Pauline and Alistair's pastime and she has shared many amazing stories of her adventures. It was on one of these trips that as a widow she met second husband Wayne R. Covington, a rocket scientist with NASA and Boeing. Pauline and Wayne continued travelling the world by Cruise ships and Freighters, they were married 11 years. Survived by her two sons, Paul (Kolly) Mackenzie, Keremeos, Cam Mackenzie, Sechelt, five grandchildren, Erdna (Mike) Pummel, A.J. (Deanna) Mackenzie, Terra Mackenzie-Dannes, Zoe (Justin) Arnet, Adam Mackenzie. Ten great-grandchidren, Avonlea Rourke, Drew Dannes, Joshua Dannes, Michelle Pummell, Lukas Pummell, Meandra Arnet, Sierra Arnet, Solange Mackenzie, Josslyn Mackenzie and Poppy Mackenzie-Arnet. Predeceased by husbands, Alistair Bain Mackenzie (1983) and Wayne R. Covington (1999). Pauline left a special mark with everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Celebration of Pauline's life will be held July 18, 2009 at 1pm, Squamish Funeral Chapel, 40440 Tantalus Road, Squamish, B.C.
