CLEWISTON - Grenville Leo Williams passed away Nov. 20, 2012. He was born Nov. 16, 1930, in St. David's Village Christ Church, Barbados to the late John Alexander, and Inez Louise Williams. Grenville Williams emigrated to the United States on Feb. 3, 1953 to provide a better life for his young family. He permanently moved to Clewiston (Harlem) Fla. in 1972. Mr. Williams was employed by Glades Sugar as a cook and supervisor in the migrant labor camps. He was also employed by the United States Sugar Corporation as a recruiter in their H2 Labor Program travelling to a number of Caribbean Countries. He retired from U. S. Sugar on July 30, 1995. Mr. Williams was a committed member of New Bethel AME Church, serving on the Trustee Board and singing in the choir. His sense of justice led him to serve as the Chairman of the Hendry County Democratic Committee, and Harlem Voters League. Mr. Williams took great joy in life, which he lived to the fullest. He enjoyed cooking, playing dominoes and checkers with his friends at Hylton Clarke's house, and was on the computer competing in checkers with a multitude of online friends. A true patriarch-Grenville L. Williams will be greatly missed. Grenville Williams was preceded in death by Florence Carlisle Williams, his spouse of 51 years who he met in Sunday School at St. David's Anglican Church; and siblings, George Williams, Merton Williams, Samuel Maloney, and Ivan Maloney. Grenville Williams is survived by his children, Emerson Williams (Earnestine), Basil Williams (Beverly) both of Bridgeton N.J., Roslyn Craig (Jeffrey) of West Palm Beach, Rev.
