Gladys Johnson-Tyson, 79, died Dec. 19, 2009, at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was born in Jensen Beach and was a longtime resident of Martin County. She attended the public schools of Martin County and was a graduate of Stuart Training School. She was retired as head registered nurse and training nurse with the Stuart Convalescent Center. She also worked and retired as a private child caregiver for Jodi and Chris Clifford helping to raise their two children Kendal and Austin. She was a member of Pentecostal Church of God and Christ since 1980 where she served as a church mother and on the Usher Board. Survivors include her husband, Bose Tyson of Stuart; daughter, Elizabeth Doe of Clearwater; son, Stepson Cleve Tyson of Stuart; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her other siblings. Services: Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. and a funeral service will begin at noon Dec. 26 at Pentecostal Church of God In Christ, Port Salerno.
