Gladys J. Davis MADISON - Gladys J. Davis, 62, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Madison, with burial at Oakridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. EST today at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel (973-2258). Memorial contributions may be made to the Davis Family, 1204 Brookwood Ave., Madison, FL 32340.She was born in Madison and was a lifelong resident. She was an active member of the St. James Missionary Society and she sang in the church choir. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by five sons, Carl Joseph, Fredrick Joseph, Calvin Davis and Earl Davis, all of Madison, and Cedric Davis of Chicago; five daughters, Demetria Phillips, Susan Brown, Angela Williams and Sophia Williams, all of Madison, and Ronda Lawrence of Jacksonville; five brothers, Frank Barfield, Mack Joseph Jr. and Charlie Carter, all of Madison, Rodriguez Carter of Atlanta and Andrew Carter of Jacksonville; two sisters, Ruby Florence Barfield of Madison and Ema Jane Thomas of Jacksonville; 31 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
