GERMAINE RALPH (nee RICHARD) After a lengthy battle with cancer Germaine passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2004. Germaine was born July 20, 1919 in St. Francois Xavier in the Paternal Home, the Richard House which is now the museum. Predeceased by her husband Cecil; and two brothers, Arthur and Leo (Yvonne). Germaine leaves to mourn one sister Therese (Roger Lalonde), one brother Emile (Aurore Richard), one sister-in-law Therese Richard and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Germaine had many careers, mainly as a tailoress, she worked in that capacity for eight years for the O.M.I. Novitiate in St. Norbert until its closing. She then went on to the Tache Hospital for a few more years, from where she left for the West Coast where she spent many a happy years in her beloved mountains. She was a great proponent of wild life and was a main donor to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, being a natural artist herself, having done many paintings of wild life and many landscapes. She was also an ambassador donor for the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation and benefactor for many charities. She loved life, was a great enthusiast of geography, travelled extensively, leaving behind many dear friends far and near. The family would like to thank Fr. Ron from Christ the King Parish, Fr. Henry from Our Lady of Victory Parish and the staff from the Riverview Palliative Care for their care. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Rd., on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m., Fr. Renato Pasinato presiding. Urn placement will follow in Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Room D 1103, Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9, and the Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Dr., Kanata, ON K2M 2W1.
