KEEFE, George L. George - passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital, Ottawa, June 26, 2008, at the age of 78. Loving husband of 52 years of Jeannine Keefe (née LeBlanc). Devoted father of Philip, Donald (Jennifer), Vivian and Paul. Predeceased by his eldest son, David. Proud grandfather of Daniel, Joel, Laura, Eric, Patrick, Matthew and Dylan. George is survived by his brothers and sister, Thomas Keefe (Norma) of Toronto, Marie Keefe of Toronto and Richard Wedge of California. Predeceased by his brothers and sister, Huntley, Alphonsus and Anne Walker. George graduated from St. Dunstan’s University, P.E.I., with a B.A. in 1951. He had a long and distinguished career in journalism and editing in Montreal and in public affairs with the Federal Public Service in Ottawa. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, at the Kelly Funeral Home, in Ottawa, Ontario. A funeral mass will be held at the Holy Cross Church, Ottawa, Ontario, Thursday, July 3.
