RAYMOND, Gary Clayton September 6, 1941 March 31, 2012 Resident of Victoria, BC After a brief but brave battle with cancer, Gary passed away peacefully at his home in Victoria with his soul mate at his side. He will be grieved by his soul mate, Jean Anne Harris; brother, Bill Raymond (Marie) of Ottawa; son, Clayton (Rose) Raymond of Victoria; step-children, Steven (Nickie), Jen and Lisa of Winnipeg; granddaughter, Sheilah Sutherland of Whitehorse; great-granddaughter, Chanel Sutherland of Whitehorse, nine step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great friends. Gary was predeceased by his mother and father; brother, Glen and ex-wife, Audrey Raymond. Gary was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1941 and then moved to Manitoba where he lived until 1967 moving then to Victoria. Gary started his career with Manitoba Hydro in the 1960's and ended his working career with the Operating Engineers in Victoria. He worked on various projects in Victoria such as Victoria Van Isle Breakwater, Can West Mall, Hillside Mall and the Royal Jubilee's new wing. He had a love of gardening, fishing and music sharing his knowledge and experience with friends and family. A celebration of life will be held at Murph's Place Pub in Victoria, 3020 Douglas on April 14th, 2012 between the hours of 2-4pm. No funeral services will be held at the request of the family.
