Francis Eugene Barrett, 77, Rotonda West, died June 23, 2004. He was born Sept. 21, 1926 in Lockland, Ohio and came to Rotonda West in 1987 from Cincinnati. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked 34 years for General Electric Aviation in Evendale, Ohio, retiring as comptroller. He also owned and operated the Barrett and Barrett Inc., tax service and was city treasurer for Forest Park, Ohio. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grove City, American Legion Post 113 in Placida and BPOE Elks Lodge 2710 in Rotonda West. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Viola; daughters Ellen of Clinton, Mich., Susan of Jacksonville and Deborah Printz of Armada, Mich.; sons Patrick of West Lake, Ohio, Michael of Dallas and Sean of Palm Beach; and eight grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge.
