FRANCES LOUISE SIMMS HARRIS, 91 LAKELAND - Frances Louise Simms Harris, 91, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012. Frances lived in Alexandria, VA, until she and her husband moved permanently to Lakeland in 1989. She was employed as a secretary to the comptroller of Alexandria Hospital until her retirement in 1984. Locally, Frances and her husband were founding members of North Lakeland Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mary Bender Simms and her husband of 60 years Kenneth Brown Harris. She is survived by son Kenneth Ray and wife Sue Lee of Southern Pines, NC; son Richard Allan and wife Deborah of Kingsport, TN; daughter Susan Patricia Harris of Alexandria, VA; brother George Simms of Newport News, VA; and three grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, and Jennifer Harris. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Friday, January 4, at North Lakeland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Lakeland Presbyterian Church, 6725 N. Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland, FL 33809.
