NORTHPORT The Lord called Evelyn Jennings, age 87, home to be with Him and her loved ones on Oct. 30, 2007. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Englewood Baptist Church with her son, Rev. Bill Richards, officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Jennings was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Mindy Arnhart, her husband, Jack Jennings, her brother, Web Arnhart, her sisters, Nellie Bowen, Virginia James and Belva Gast, and great-great grandson, Ethan Grantham. She is survived by her son, Rev. Bill Richards and wife Betty; her grandchildren, Connie (Glenn) Rushing, Mike (Dana) Richards, and Billy (Carissa) Richards; five great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one stepson, Jack Jennings; one stepdaughter, Libby Puckett; and one sister, Frances Koster.She was such a loving mother and grandmother. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain. Pallbearers will be Mike and Trent Richards, Billy Richards, Lee Richards, Glenn Rushing, James and Bradley Rushing, Charles, Hunter, and Nate Grantham.Honorary pallbearers are members of Englewood Baptist Church and members of the Ladies Sunday School class of Englewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Jennings was a long-time member of Englewood Baptist Church where her son, Rev. Bill Richards, has pastored for 34 years.
