Eugene Malcomb Davis, 78, Bradenton and formerly of Sarasota, died Dec. 23, 2002. He was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Washington, D.C., came to Sarasota in 1947 from Maryland and later moved to Bradenton. He was a cabinet maker for the Sarasota County School Board. He was a supporter for Children's Haven for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served during the Philippines Campaign. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Taylor of Bradenton; a son, Dave of Bradenton; a brother, Walter E. of Deltona; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
