SMITH, Esther Madeline "Madge," 95, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 4,2006, in Tampa. Madge was predeceased by her husband of nearly 78 years, Blair. She is survived by her son, Harvey, and his wife, Carolyn, of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Barbara Barrick of West Palm Beach; daughter, Wilma Wiggins, and her husband, Jesse, of Temple Terrace; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Madge was born December 15, 1910, in Marchand, Pa. She and Blair married February 26, 1928 in New York. In 1964, they moved to Clearwater. Madge was a member of the Eastern Star and was employed at Mease Hospital in Dunedin for 10 years. She and Blair were members of Union Street United Methodist Church in Clearwater, and enjoyed traveling and ship cruises in their retirement years. A private burial service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at Sylvan Abbey in Clearwater, and a memorial service will take place at a later date at Union Street United Methodist Church.
