SMITH, Emily Stephen Emily Smith passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the age of 96 years. For many years Emily worked in hospitality for the Highlander Hotel. Upon retirement, she became an active member of Legion 264, the trailer club, Parkdale Church choir and all the crazy, fun things they did. Emily was also an avid member of Mt. Pleasant ceramics studio until encumbered by her health. She will be dearly missed by her son Brian Smith, her daughter Jo and son-in-law Richard Rausch, her five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren as well as by her extended family. Emily was predeceased by her husband Jack Smith and son Barry Smith. A Celebration of Emily's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Eden Brook Cemetery.
