ELLA L. MAACK "ELOISE" VALPARAISO,IN Ella L."Eloise" Maack, 93, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Porter Hospital. She was born August 2, 1917 in Washington Township to Henry C. and Anna (Wilgen) Bussert. Eloise graduated from Washington Township High School and had worked as the Executive Housekeeper at Porter Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Past President of the local AARP chapter and was an active volunteer within the community. On June 9, 1937 in Wanatah, she married William H. Maack, who preceded her in death in 1970. Survivors include four children: Jean Goodwin of Valparaiso, Phyllis Koch of Romeoville, IL, Leonard (Sharon) Maack of Valparaiso and Janice Maack of Valparaiso; four grandchildren: Kim (Jeff) Ellibee, Rebecca (Alex) Czurylo, John (Sheila) Goodwin and Julia (Martin Mulford) Goodwin; 10 great grandchildren: Tim, Katie, Justin, Hester, Nicholas, Kayla, Jessica, Michael, William and Steven; one great-great grandson, Michael; and "adopted daughters": Kathleen O'Hara and Sue Felty. She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Bussert; one sister, Mildred Stowers; and one grandson, Michael Maack. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
