CONROY Elizabeth Peters Conroy, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2007 in Tyler, Texas. A memorial service will be held in Jacksonville on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Rafe Vigil, Senior Pastor of Riverside Park United Methodist Church, will officiate. Before the service the family will receive friends at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Conroy was born on July 15, 1912, in Miami to the late Charles Arthur and Julia Finlayson Peters. She attended Florida State College for Women, now Florida State University, and pledged Pi Beta Phi Sorority. In 1939 she married Dan J. Conroy, Jr. They remained in Miami until 1960 when they moved to Jacksonville, Florida. After moving to Jacksonville, Mrs. Conroy became a member of Dianthus Garden Circle and Riverside Park United Methodist Church. In 2003 she moved to Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Conroy was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Conroy, and her sisters Margaret Shad of Jacksonville, and Julie Wilson of Miami. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Conser and husband Paul of Tyler; her son C. Gregg Conroy and wife Lynn of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Craig Conser, Jennifer Grigsby of Tyler, Jonathan Conser of Dallas, Daniel Conroy, and Kimberley Milliken of Nashville; eleven great-grandchildren, Peyton Conser, Karsen Conser, Jackson Conser, Cameron Grigsby, Hayden Grigsby of Tyler, Brister Conser, Caroline Conser of Dallas, Blake Mc Donald, Daniel Conroy, Brandon Milliken, and Kylie Milliken of Nashville, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
