Elizabeth Betty" Horn Utica Elizabeth Betty J. Horn, 90, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 1, 1922, in Utica, daughter of the late Emmett and Minnetta Burke. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and Utica Catholic Academy. Betty was employed as a receptionist with Dr. Robert Brennan, and later, Dr. Patrick Mullens of Utica during the 1960s. On October 26, 1946, Betty and John Horn were united in marriage at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, and shared a loving union of over fifty years together until Johns passing on January 5, 1997. Bettys greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family and friends, who she loved dearly. She is survived by her son, James Horn, of Utica, and his wife, Patty, her daughter, Connie Gosline, of Peterborough, NH, and her husband, Larry; seven grandchildren, Christopher Gosline, of Manchester, MA, and his wife, Rene, Stacy McGovern of Utica, NY and her husband, Shane, Matthew Gosline of Brooklyn, NY, Kelly Zegarelli and her husband, Anthony, of Frankfort, NY, Kristy Horn, of Utica, NY, Ryan Gosline, of Manchester, NH and Lauren Gosline of Brighton, MA; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Julia, Sophia and Nicholas. The family appreciates the loving care provided by all of Bettys many caregivers who helped them in this difficult time, and who are too many to list. Special thanks go to Mary Cardillo, her loving caregiver and friend, Pat and Jim Roddy, Julie, her Hospice nurse, and Dr. Kevin Matthews. Funeral services will be on Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home and 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 2222 Genesee Street, Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
