WHITE, Edythe Mary (nee Vatcher) Edythe Mary Vatcher was born on January 21, 1919 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at her grandmother's house. She passed away in Sidney on February 24, 2012 at the age of 93. She is peacefully awaiting Jesus' soon second coming. Edythe married William Duncan White on December 19, 1944 and they remained in the area of Sidney and Victoria for the last 67 years. Edythe was a teacher and loved the kids. She taught four years in private church school and a total of twenty-five years in the public school system at Resthaven School, Hill Memorial School, Saanichton, Brentwood, Sidney, Deep Cove, McTavish and Sansbury Elementary Schools. She will also be remembered for being a missionary to Mwami Hospital in Zambia, Africa. Her latest endeavor was making homemade cards and sharing them with everyone! Edythe's siblings are brothers Howard Vatcher (deceased), Leslie Vatcher and her sister Elizabeth Sneesby. Edythe and Bill have two sons, Dayle (Linda) and Ken (Ronda), four grandchildren Michelle (Martin), Dayle (Andrea), Marianne and Benjamin, and two great-grandchildren Emily and Geoffrey. A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 4, 2012 at Victoria SDA Church, 983 Pandora Ave, Victoria, BC and a reception to follow at Lakeview Christian School, 729 Cordova Bay Rd., Victoria.
