LANE, EDNA E., 99, of Shepherdsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at her home. She was born on June 16, 1906, to the late H. T. and Nancy Grant in Bullitt County. She was a former employee of the old White's Grocery and Smothers Grocery, eventually becoming an owner along with her husband, John, for over 25 years. Edna had been a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church for over 41 years, later moving her membership to the Shepherdsville Christian Church to be near her family. Her husband John, and children Norma, Hamilton and George N. Lane preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Geneva Amerine (James), Shirley M. Meiman (Vincent Paul), and C. L. Lane (Betty); 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Lane will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. on Saturday. Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Louisville or to donor's favorite charity.
