Alton, Edith EAST GREENBUSH Edith (Monington) Alton, 95, formerly of Snyders Lake Rd., Wynantskill, died at Northwoods Nursing Home in East Greenbush on Friday, September 7, 2007. Born in New York City, she had been a resident of the Capital Region for many years. Edith was a clerk at K-Mart in East Greenbush prior to her retiring several years ago, and a member of the Blooming Grove Reformed Church in North Greenbush. Predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Edith (Brown) Monington; her husband, Ralph W. Alton Sr.; a son, Ralph W. Alton Jr.; brothers and sisters. She is survived by a sister, Myrtle Miller of Pawling, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call in the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery, Town of Prospect, N.Y.
