Douglas Wayne AndersonEducator, coach, umpire, and referee TEWKSBURY -- Douglas Wayne Anderson, of Tewksbury, passed away suddenly from an apparent heart attack on September 13, 2012.The son of the late Wayne and Mabel Anderson, he was born on November 12, 1946 in Medford.Doug was a lifelong educator, athletic coach, and high school umpire and referee. Doug graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1964, earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lowell State College in 1968 and 1970 respectively, and also later earned a graduate degree from Salem State College. Doug touched the lives of scores of children as a teacher and administrator in local area elementary schools for over 40 years.He was the beloved husband of Donna Anderson.In addition, he is survived by his son, Brian Anderson and his wife, Kelly of Billerica, and by his daughter, Kerrie (Anderson) Sancartier and her husband, Michael of Dracut. He is the loving grandfather of Mollie and Meghan Anderson, and Emma and Abby Sancartier. He is brother to Russell Anderson and his wife, Jane of North Hampton, NH and Keith Anderson and his wife Nancy of Tewksbury. He was son-in-law to Albert and H. Patricia Swain, brother-in-law to Cherilyn and Joseph O'Neil. Doug is also uncle to Teddy, TJ, Wayne, Keith, Brett, Dawn-Marie Anderson, Evan, Zachary and the late Justin O'Neil.ANDERSON -- Douglas W. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Service at 11 a.m., in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, corner of Merrimack & Kirk Sts., Lowell. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Justin Andrew O'Neil Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Kerrie Sancartier, 30 Diamond Dr., Dracut, MA 01826. www.farmeranddee.com
