WESTON - Dorothy Foster Goodwin, 92, died July 1, 2012, at Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow. She was born April 14, 1920, in Weston, the daughter of Marion Whitney Cleaveland Foster and Barney Atwood Foster. She attended high schools in Chester and Springfield. While in her teens, she worked for a time at Johnny Seesaw's in Peru, as well as for Maxwell and Beatrice Rust. On Nov. 14, 1941, she married Charles M. Goodwin. Mr. Goodwin died in 1967. During World War II, Mrs. Goodwin was employed by National Survey in Chester. After her husband died, she worked at Weston Bowl Mill and was a senior companion for 17 years. She served on the board of Old Parish Church where she sang in the choir until age 89. She was also a member of Weston Women's Club. Survivors include four children, Martha Etchison, Dean, Kirk and Charles "Tim" Goodwin, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by three siblings, Barbara Ameden, Charles and Donald Foster. The memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Old Parish Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gill Odd Fellows Home, 8 Gill Terrace, Ludlow, VT 05149; or Old Parish Church, PO Box 125, Weston, VT 05161.
