KIRK Dora Gertrude (nee Anderson) July 28, 1915 - April 17, 2006 Dora Gertrude Kirk passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Colleen (Gord) Chapman, Bernice (Joe) Larmond, Heather Joseph and Vivian (Dan) Fenske; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dora was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary Anderson; her three sisters, Mary Shepherd, Bella Solverson and Bertha Hogg; her three brothers, Charlie, Jim and Howard Anderson; as well as her husbands, Ralph (Bobby) Louden and Lorne Kirk. To quote Mom, she said: "I have had a Very Happy Life and enjoyed many friends." She loved to play music for others and with others especially her brothers and nieces and nephews. She played the banjo for her first dance with her brothers at the age of twelve. She enjoyed belonging to, and took great pride in earning her College Degree in the Women of the Moose Lodge. She also received her Past Noble Grand and Assembly Degree with the Rebecca Lodge and was a pianist for both organizations. She played the accordion for evening singsongs for Brewster Trail Rides and Trial Hikes of the Canadian Rockies from 1954 to 1982. "Twenty years of beautiful memories, meeting people from all over the world" unquote. Until the recent six years Mom kept active dancing, bowling, curling, playing cards, knitting and crocheting, she and Lorne went on many cruises and traveled extensively to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and United States; her playing of music never stopped right up to the end. Funeral Services will be held at FIRST MEMORIAL FUNERAL SERVICES, 240 - 17 Avenue S.W., Calgary on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Brian Pearson officiating.
