BURNS,DOLENA FRANCIS 'DOLLY' 69, NEW WATERFORD Dolena Francis Burns, beloved wife of James P. Burns, 495 Eighth St., New Waterford, passed away Dec. 21, 2006, at home peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, Dolly was the daughter of the late Dan and Josephine (Ranson) McPhee. She was a devoted member of Mount Carmel parish and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Women's Auxillary, New Waterford. Dolly was also a homemaker with the New Waterford Homemakers Society. She was an avid bowler for many years. Dolly will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Jim; daughters, Karen (Mike) McGraw, Oromocto, N.B., Joanne (George) MacKay, New Waterford, Betty (Dan) Dryden, Calgary, Alta., Sandra (Larry) Melanson, Oakville, Ont., Cathy (Paul) Fraser, New Waterford; sons, Jim (Zita), New Waterford, Donny (Margie), Oromocto, N.B., Billy (Nancy), Halifax, as well as her 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Mary (Henry) Burns, Bernard McPhee, June Attwood, Margaret MacMullin, all of New Waterford; several nieces and nephews. Besisdes her parents, Dolly was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Petrie, Veronica Whiting, Thelma Boutilier, brothers, Donald 'Buddy', Wilfred, James 'Jimmy'. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass celebrating Dolly's life will take place Saturday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. in Mount Carmel Church with burial in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 15, New Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Research Department or Mount Carmel Church.
