Retired Educator MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday May 26, 2003 at University Hospital, Augusta, Mr. Clinton Richard 'CR' Davis, 80, husband of Mrs. Juanita H. Davis. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28 2003 at Platts Funeral Home North Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Steve Spencer officiating. Mr. Davis was a native of Swainsboro, and had made the Augusta area his home most of his life. He was the principle of Evans High School from 1960 to 1968. After leaving there he went to be the Comptroller for Columbia County until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Davis was a member of the Green Meadows Golf Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans. Additional survivors include two brothers, Inman Davis, Statesboro, Dr. Paul Davis, McDonough; three sisters, Thelma Powell, Midville, Helen Rogers, Swainsboro, and Peggy Ware, Jacksonville, Fla. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Evans, P.O. Box 159, Evans, GA, 30809.
